Guzar auqaat naheen ho paati
Din say ab raat naheen ho paati

Sari duniya main bus ik tum say hee
Ab mulaqat naheen ho paati

Jo dharakti hay merey dil main kaheen
Ik wohee baat naheen ho paati

Jama karta hoon sar-e-chasham bohat
Phir bhi barsaat naheen ho paati

Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua Banke Tamanna Meri

Lab Pe Aati Hay Dua Banke Tamanna Meri
– Allama Iqbal

Lab pe aati hai dua banke tamanna meri

Nek jo raah ho us raah pe chalaanaa mujhko

Iran Claims It Has Made World’s Most Powerful Natural Gas Car

The Middle East’s largest automaker has unveiled a four-door sedan, claiming its engine is the world’s most powerful run by natural gas It’s a significant development in a country that has converted more than 250,000 cars to run on the stuff

The company, Iran Khodro, says the turbocharged engine in the Samand Soren ELX produces 150 horsepower, 37 more than the CNG-powered Honda Civic GX and just four short of the gasoline-burning four-cylinder Toyota Camry

Iran Khodro unveiled the car Saturday in Tehran, and the Tehran Times says it was developed “under the intellectual property of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” which explains why there was a picture of the Ayatollah looking over the car

Company CEO Manouchehr Manteqi says the car meets Euro IV emissions standards and adds, “its nominal power will not decline even at the height of 2,000 meters above sea level” That’s 6,561 feet for the metrically challenged, and it’s significant because Tehran, like Denver, is located about 5,000 feet above sea level

Manteqi didn’t offer any other details on the car, but the Samand LX uses a 17-liter four-cylinder that produces 100 horsepower It does 0 to 62 mph in 119 seconds and tops out at 115 mph

Iran Khodro is partially owned by the government, and it has a joint venture with Peugeot to build the Logan econobox (sold in Iran as the Tondar 90) and the 206 compact and 405 sedan Although the global auto industry is slumping, Iran Khodro plans to ramp up production and ease its dependence on foreign suppliers, according to Reuters

Tehran, a city of 12 million people, has long been plagued by pollution That’s changed in recent years as the city has adopted natural gas buses, forced taxis to convert to CNG and taken decrepit old cars off the road More than 250,000 cars have been converted to natural gas since 2004, according to the Los Angeles Times

How to fix Firefox 3 Memory Leak problem

Recently, I have very big problem with my Firefox browser Few minutes after starting of Firefox application, my Firefox become too slow for surfing, all open applications freeze for two or three seconds after every my click I noticed that Firefoxexe take up a big part of my computer memory After reading several forums on the net, I find how to fix this “Firefox memory leak” problem

Just follow these simple steps to get your Firefox memory usage under control The solution was in ”about:config” Firefox hidden configuration options

  1. Get the main configuration screen by putting “about:config” in the browser’s address bar
  2. Right click on the page and choose New then Integer and create an integer called “browsercachememorycapacity” Set it to a low number (I use 16384 – that means 15MB) This controls how many kilobytes of memory are used for the browser’s cache
  3. In the Filter of “about:config” page (top of the page) put “browsercachediskcapacity” Set “browsercachediskcapacity” (right click – Modify) to between 5000 or 15000 (I use 15000) For example: if you have 128MB to 512M use 5000, if you have 512BM to 1GB of RAM use 15000 This controls how many kilobytes of memory are used for the browser’s cache
  4. Configure Firefox to swap memory to disk when minimized In the Filter of “about:config” page (top of the page) put “configtrim_on_minimize”, Right click on the page and choose New then Boolean and create an boolean called “configtrim_on_minimize” Set it to true This mean – when you minimize the firefox window it will free up memory
  5. In the Filter of “about:config” page (top of the page) put “networkprefetch-next” Set “networkprefetch-next” to false Network link prefetch will download all pages with the rel=”prefetch” tag, with false you avoid that downloading
  6. In the Filter of “about:config” page (top of the page) put “browsersessionhistorymax_total_viewers” Set it to low number I set it to 6 This controls how many pages of history are kept in the back/forward buttons

Restart Firefox and that’s it! Now, your Firefox and your computer will be much faster and you are ready for faster surfing Enjoy!

Gmail – More Cool Features

Gmail - Do more with labelsAs I said earlier Gmail has updated there buttons, they are very shiny now But the update doesn’t ends there

The labels dropdown menu is improved as well,  instead of having list of labels twice in same dropdown menu for Assigning or Moving an email’s label, you have two lists, one for Moving Label and one for Assigning a new Label

If you have a long list of labels (like I have) you will also appreciate the new search/auto-complete label feature integrated into these label’s dropdowns

pdf_smFast PDF Previews
This is another great new feature in Gmail, I send and receive many receipts, quotations & documents via Gmail, everytime for finding one particular file I had to open many (similar subjects and file names, just date and receiver is usually different) but now I have ability to view PDF without downloading it You do have to login to Google Docs but it doesn’t saves the document on your Google Docs account And it’s pretty quick too Moreover it doesn’t makes your Firefox heavy as an elephant like the default Adobe Reader Plugin does

Here is what Google writes on their what’s new page:

Labels: auto-complete and “move to”

The buttons and menus at the top of your inbox look a bit different: there’s a new “Labels” button that makes labeling messages even easier Turn on keyboard shortcuts and hit “L” to bring up your labels, and auto-complete will take it from there Use the “Move to” button to label and archive in just one step — just like you would with a folder Learn more

Fast PDF previews

Now you can preview PDFs right in your browser without waiting for them to download and open in another application Just click the “View” link next to any pdf attachments you receive

Happy Birthday Facebook

Yep, it’s Facebook’s 5th Birthday today, and even though I am not a fan of social network sites and I am not really impressed by facebook’s privacy options I still think that they have done a pretty solid job

It’s great to see how they have stick to one theme from beginning till today, it just got improved every day every week every month I was trying to create a slideshow of how they have progressed from 2005 till today but unfortunately ArchiveORG doesn’t store images that were linked inside a css file, so even though they do have all changes recorded in there database but the layout looks all messed up because of that Otherwise it would have been a real good slide to see and observe the changes Hmm

Anyways here is what  Mark Zuckerberg wrote on facebook’s blog:

Tomorrow is Facebook’s 5th birthday This is a happy occasion for Facebook, but much more significant to the Facebook team is the fact that over 150 million people around the world are using Facebook to connect with the people in their lives Facebook was founded in 2004 to give people the tools to engage and understand the world around them We are glad and humbled that so many people are using Facebook in this way

And here is the Facebook’s design evolution gallery that I have ripped from facebook’s about page:
